To ensure these benefits are received by Kansans who need them, the Fraud Investigations Unit, investigates and prevents fraudulent use of benefit funds.

The Fraud Investigations Unit is comprised of a Chief Investigator and Fraud Hotline Receptionists located in the Office of General Counsel. Additionally, 16 Fraud Special Investigators, including two Deputy Chiefs of Investigation, and four Fraud Analysts are evenly assigned statewide. There are three Special Investigators permanently assigned to a joint Federal/State Social Security Disability Fraud Taskforce which is 100% funded by Social Security.
