What is the amount of cost recovery fee(s) employers may charge for income withholding?
From income due the employee, the employer may charge a fee of $5 for each withholding from periodic income (e.g. normal pay), but may not exceed $10 for each month for which support is withheld from a periodic payment, whichever is less. For income withholding from a lump sum payment, the employer may charge $10 per withholding, which is in addition to any fee charged for withholding from periodic payments. Any such fees shall be in addition to the amount withheld as support. K.S.A. 23-3104(e)
